an asheville summer | asheville photographer

This is our second summer here in Asheville. Last year we had just arrived and were just beginning to settle into life here. This year has had it’s shares of ups and downs (as life does especially when moving to a new place!) but over all we couldn’t be more in love with Western NC. The amount of natural beauty continues to blow my mind, and even after a year, there are endless places to play and explore.

Looking back through photos always helps me feel grateful. As summer is winding down I am feeling so much gratitude for this amazing place that we call home and I only hope to do it some justice with my photography.

Here are some of my favorite images from the summer…

flourish flower farm | asheville, nc

This past week I had the honor of photographing a workshop held on Flourish Flower Farm just north of Asheville, NC. I had been following Niki’s instagram page for some time so when I was able to go to her farm and capture the magic of her beautiful space, I was so excited! The people who visit her farm all seem to have the same reaction…pure joy. I heard it again and again from her workshop attendee’s, “I just feel so happy here!!”

And it’s no wonder. Her space, her flowers, and just her general presence is enough to make anyone feel amazing. She hosts workshops, arranges flowers for weddings and elopements, and provides fresh flowers for local stores. Here is her website if you are ever in need of flower therapy ♡

alex krug combo | asheville live music

Last month I had the amazing opportunity to photograph an up and coming band in Asheville record their new album at Echo Mountain Studios, which just happens to be located in an old church. The experience was one I won’t soon forget. The sound and vibes of this building were simply amazing. If your ever in Asheville and have the chance to see Alex and her band live, definitely don’t miss out.

Here are a few shots from that day…

This was our first fall here in Asheville and while it was too short (in my opinion!) it was still so magical.  Here are a few images from the cozy days of hiking, cooking and staying warm ♡
